IMPORTANT GROUND SHIPPING INFORMATION

B Young Baskets ships both FedEx, UPS and Canada Post. Both of these couriers are reputable and have a long history of providing outstanding service. However during the busy holiday season there are situations that may result in either company delaying the delivery of your basket(s).

* The recipient was not available to receive the order and  driver does not consider leaving the package by the door a secure place. Some drivers migh leave the gift by the door, with a building manager, etc. but it is always at the driver's discretion and we do not have control over that.

* Delay due to bad weather

* Recipient's telephone number not included in the order, wrong or incomplete address (if the address is an apartment building please remember to include the buzzer number, otherwise the driver will not have access to the building and this could cause a delay in the delivery!).

Please note that rural areas may require additional shipping time. Fedex will, at their discretion, sub-contract shipments to other couriers outside of high volume areas. This may delay the delivery and/or tracking of the order.

Fedex Ground is not guaranteed to all residential addresses and also to businesses AND residences within 14 days prior to December 24th, 2008.

Please note that Fedex Ground clearly states:

The FedEx Ground Money-Back Guarantee applies to domestic deliveries to business addresses within Canada - this means that Fedex will NOT issue a refund on residencial deliveries. Home based businesses also qualify as a residential address.

IN THE EVENT THAT A REFUND IS EXPECTED FOR LATE OR NON-DELIVERY BY FEDEX GROUND OR A LOCAL COURIER, IT WILL BE PROCESSED AND REFUNDED AFTER THE HOLIDAY SEASON.

Please note Fedex Ground Service is not guaranteed to residential homes. In the event that no one is home when Fedex attempts to deliver the package, it is up to the driver's discretion whether it is safe or appropriate to leave the package at the residence. If the package is not left, a notice will be left instead. Fedex will attempt two other deliveries and if unsuccessful the package will be returned to B Young Baskets. Additional shipping charges will apply if we need to resend it.

Any additional information to assist the driver in making a delivery will be passed along. For example: For deliveries going to appartments, a buzzer number might be required to gain access the the building.

In the event that the shipping address provided by the customer is incomplete or the receipient has relocated and the gift needs to be re-directed, Fedex Ground charges a service fee for the re-direct. We in turn will charge the customer this fee.

RURAL AREAS:

Rural Areas are typically defined as Postal Codes containing a number "0" as the second digit. Ex: V0N 1S6

For all shipments going to rural areas in Canada add 1 to 3 extra days. Also, for all deliveries to rural areas an extra CDN$2.00 fee will apply. Orders shipping to PO Boxes will be sent via Canada Post. For very remote areas additional service fees may apply. Someone from our Customer Service Department will contact you for approval before shipping any order with an additional charge above $2.00.

 

General Information:

Shipping standards are created by our couriers, not us. We will always ship the method you have paid for even if your desired arrival date is before the delivery standard date. This means if you have requested your package to arrive in Toronto in one day and you've paid for ground service - 4-5 business days, we will ship via ground. Please select the most appropriate shipping method if your gift is time sensitive. We are not responsible for shipping delays from couriers or common carriers. If your parcel is more than 3 days late after the delivery standard has passed, we will be happy to credit your freight costs back to your credit card and initiate a trace on your package.

Please note that shipment time on our order page reflects business days. All orders are shipped within 1 business day of receipt of order which means that we require a 24 hr window to create, wrap and have your order ready before it leaves our facility. Deliveries are performed weekdays between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm. At this time we are unable to do weekend/evening deliveries. Although we do our best to accomodate special requests, we cannot guarantee specific time of day deliveries. Our volume increases substantially at Christmas and we may need additional time to process your order before shipping. We will post messages at the top of each page during the Christmas season to advise you of any shipping delays.

You are always welcome to use your own courier, just give us a call and we'll let you know when to send them to pick-up.

If a basket is returned to us because of an incorrect address provided by you, we can re-ship the basket to the recipient at an additional freight cost....Please check your addresses carefully!

Delivery Standards

Delivery Standards measure the allowable time given by the courier in business days, not counting the ship date, in order to guarantee delivery. If you package does not arrive within the timelines given our guarantee covers the freight charges only. We cannot refund the package contents until it is returned to us or a claim is made against the carrier and they guarantee it is lost. Occasionally packages are delayed in shipping due to weather, mechanical breakdown etc.

Delivery Standards across Canada vary between Major Centers (Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal etc) and outlying areas. The following are guidelines representing delivery standards across Canada.

All  orders are shipped within BC by Canada Post, UPS or FedEx. If your company has an account with another courier, call us to arrange a suitable time for your courier to pick-up from us.

Across Canada

All orders are shipped across Canada using one of Canada Posts Services (Expedited, Xpress or Priority Courier) or FedEx. Delivery times and costs vary depending on the size of basket shipped and the destination.
